Is he on the forum, I am better at working wood than steel, but that is really nice work.

Can't speak for Jeff's design above but the African Outback drawers are more or less a permanent install; or at least you don't want to be removing/reinstalling them due to the amount of time it takes...

Not alot to the installation and removal. The two drawers are modular so they come out seperate of eachother. They bolt to the existing bracket holes on the floor for the third row seats that used to be there. There is also a braket that supports them in the front that you have to roll the second row seats forward to get at.
Maybe 20 minutes once you get it down.
Mine, however, will be staying put.
Cost was $1100 for the whole nine yards.
He also came to my office and installed them. That is not part of the service, he said he was going to be in the area. That was very cool.

Jeff is a totally good guy and occasionally posts on Mud-Slo60 or something similar. I know he came to Sacramento and installed one for Marty, but I went to the source for the build and the install. He does use the best materials, and if anything overbuilds them in terms of fasteners/biscuits/pocket screws etc.
Regarding taking them out-10 minutes at most.
I love being able to sleep inside, and still have most of my heavy junk stored in the drawer.

All braces, etc are wood. The only metal on the whole thing are the nuts and bolts.
The runners for the drawers are white nylon or teflon.
I will post some more pics when I get the vehicle out of the shop.
Weight? Dunno. Not terribly heavy, but not light either. it's all wood...
Here are a few pics from an old thread. you can see the rails that the drawers run on. no conventional drawer slides to get gummed up on the trail from dirt.

How easy do they slide when they are fully loaded? How far can you pull them out when they are fully loaded? Seems like you would want all the heavy stuff towards the front, which would create a lot of leverage when you pull the drawer out all the way. Why doesn't he use a roller system?
