What worked for me was to look in your chilton/haynes manual and find the section on efi or wiring schematics... whatever section that talks about the computer and has the diagram of all the wires that go to and from it. There is a wire labeled 'Stop Light S/W' and if you pull the wire from the plug, or snip it if you are lazy. That should fix the problem. may haynes manual says it is a G-W wire... Green with white stripe. Toyota made many changes to wire colors and the computer throughout the years so that may not be valid. Hope this helps.
