Already reached out still waiting to hear from them.

You can also reach out to these guys:

Unfortunately after getting out I found that I only had power to one rear wheel even with the locker. I think it’s why I got into the jam I was in 🤨
After getting it back to camp a little investigating I found this.

I have a set of spare axles with me but there’s still part of the axle stuck in the the diff.
And it’s been in the high 90s to hot for me.
So all pack up and headed home in the morning.
Ran some very hard trails for full bodied rigs and had a great time.

Glad you were able to get it out of that hole. I hate to say this but it may be time for larger axles. Toyota axles only go so far.
somewhere on here there is a thread where someone cut a hole in the housing to get the broken shaft out to pull the diff.

Safe travels on the way home.

D'oh

clicked pretty fast seeing a RTH from Broski. Glad you got out of there (without the publicity of a major youtube channel ). I'm on the exact opposite end of the state but would be happy to help if I can

That's disappointing to see. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that the third RCV axle you've broken? Didn't you snap a couple on Fordyce?
I wheel hard 😎 and often three axles in 12 years not bad.

Here’s a little perspective

This is one of the climbs on the Popa Smurf Trail.
Pictures and video never do justice so I had my friend Dan stand there so you can get a better idea.
There’s a steep climb with few a ledges and then off camber left turn with more ledges as you continue your way up.

Definitely not for inexperienced drivers

This trail is no joke and this climb is very intimidating with Dyer consequences if things were to go wrong.
I went first and was very concerned so I dropped the air pressure down to 8 PSI for maximum traction
Made the climb and then left the tires at psi 8

There are several more super difficult obstacles that follow that required some full throttle assaults to make.

My theory is that I twisted the spines on that axle doing so.

The next morning we decided to hit Front range trail it’s a new trail that's also a 8 rating.

I decided to jump into that V notch and got wedged in there a requirement to stay to stay on the vertical wall on the right.
Everything seem to be going well until it wasn’t
I believe that the axle let loose as a result of getting wedged in and being compromised the day before and when I lost that traction every time I moved forward I slipped a little more down the wall on the right.

At the end of the day if you want to run technical trails you have to accept breakage as part of the fun.
I’m always amazed at how well the 80 holds up to what I put it through.

I actually could have backed out of that situation if I was willing to destroy the sheet metal on the passenger side.

Obviously, I waited till more help arrived and got away with a few small scratches on the doors
I’m calling it a win 😎
