I searched and could not find what i was looking for.

I have a 1994 fzj80 and while driving i hear a rattle coming from the engine compartment. It drives fine just rattles like shaking a can of spray paint. I am pretty sure it is the pair system. Is there any way to fix the rattle? I prefer not to remove the pair system. Would like to fix it

Thanks

Very broad list of items it could be, my preference was install a better stereo. Limits the amount of rattles I hear now!
I'd suggest just start idly tapping on things in engine bay; even if you don't find it you'll start to learn the sounds that things make for future use.
And I'd probably start looking at heat shields in your case, over the headers and around the header downpipes.
Good luck with the hunt!

Thanks i am pretty sure it is the pair system. I am not sure if it is repairable?

I have a couple pair valves if you need one.

I had a rattle towards my rear end once. Went on for months!
Driving down an alley one night, finally hear the ting. A little metal bracket that held a brake line finally fell to the ground.
Had I not been crawling down an alley, never would have found the culprit.
Could be anything, good luck!

1) what make you so sure it’s the pair system?
2) if you’re so sure why ask here?

Please take a video of the noise you hear. Move around under the hood slowly, not talking so we can hear various areas.

Then post to YouTube and place the link here. Then we will review it and offer our expert opinions and some sodomy.

There are lots of things that make noise under the hood. Trying to spell GrrrRrrrRrrr gets tedious and it may be a dddd bbb ddd bbb grrr bip ding! kind of sound.

Does the rattle (ball bearings rattling inside a metal can sound??) occur when under load ie: light acceleration, hard acceleration, going up hills, coasting in gear foot off the gas, or with the transmission in neutral???
Did this start suddenly one day or has it been getting worse over days, weeks, ???
Have you changed where you get fuel recently?
Is the vehicle running hot?
Have you adjusted/checked the engine timing?
