I have a similar home-made one with an integrated lower railing--came with one of my trucks I bought from a Mud member years ago. Maybe he'll post up and offer some details.

I do have one, just seeing if there are any others out there, thinking of making some. Any interest folks?
John, I may be interested in one. I've looked at that diagram in my parts books for years and thought about building one as well. I would love to see the original one.

Sand, do some 45 research, it’s well documented here? Early 45’s were had in short bed and Long bed configurations.

Thanks for the clarification. Knew there was a SWB, didn’t realize the tub looked that different from LWB. The round corners make it look modern.

Yes, that would be part "A" in the book.
The one I have is for bolt down hard tops, has two outer pegs which drop down into the "B" pillar holes, and have holes to bolt down to the bottom panel. Works great for me because I have a fiberglass back panel which bolts straight down.
An early model which uses latches can also be made. Was thinking of this being a two or three part fixture with sleeved joints so shipping can be feasible.
When I bought this circa 1990 in Placerville, Ca. ordered off line, They said it was the last one available, came in a box 18"x 18"x 72".

John, I misread the post. I thought you were talking about the stake bed. The cab railing would be great also.
John, does yours look like the one in the parts book? I can see how it will go into the B-Pillar's but I'm not sure what the longer post behind the driver side is for... What are the other five small brackets on the down for? Hmmmm..
