Radiator Question- Photos of 16400-50360 (UZJ100) and 16400-66121 (HDJ101) look the same, what is the difference?

Not in a huge need for this now, but like to plan ahead and do maintenance early.

Looking at the Radiator for the HDJ101, part number 16400-66121 and out of curiosity looked up the radiator for the UZJ100 part number 16400-50360.

In the photos they look pretty much identical- does anyone know if the US Spec UZJ100 would work in the HDJ101? This would make it a lot cheaper and easier to replace.

I don’t know but I would not trust those images to be representing those part numbers specifically.

I love these puzzles.

Couple things...

There is a mounting tab for the coolant reservoir that is different. The UZJ coolant reservoir tab is on the RH side of the vehicle, but it looks like the tab is on the LH side of the HDJ rad.

The lower hose outlet is different where it molds itself into the tank. It appears that the HDJ outlet is longer and the hose stop is higher, but that could be the angle of the pics.

But as GTV said... you might not be able to trust that the pics are accurate...

Yes, you are correct- the tab/mounting screw locations are on the opposite side. Haven't ever tried to take the metal sides of these off (Not even sure you can- Partsouq shows a part number but the item is not available from them). But if you can and everything else turned out to be the same- could be an easy/much cheaper swap from the original sku.

HDJ radiator needs to come from abroad, shipping/tariffs. That PN is not available in US. Landing that in the US is going to be over $1200.00

Your cost/benefit ratio analysis is pretty off.

Ease of procurement and cost difference are both interesting factors.

I can pick up a UZJ radiator currently at my local dealer within a day or two for $320.83+ tax and yes over $1200 for a HDJ radiator along with a couple of week lead-time.

Mainly curious if the only difference are the mounting tabs (capacity, etc. the same?), but for $320.83+tax it might be worth the experiment.
