Radar detector?

Saw a 1998 LX470 at the auction with two interesting features.

The first was a telephone, built in, with controls on the steering wheel.

The other was a radar detector, built in, with indicators in the instrument cluster.

The phone looked 100% percent factory. The radar looked 95% factory. Having never seen either of these options, I was curious what years were they available? Were both systems factory? Part #'s? Mostly interested in the radar

I know escort/passport radar detectors make a custom install. Not knowing what you saw, I can't make any educated guess. But check out this website:

Hi, this is my first post here!! I also have a 1998 LX with the built in telephone system thing. It has controls on the steering wheel, and a plug for the phone in the center arm rest/console. Does anyone know anything about that? Can any cell phone work with this? Or does it have to be a certain type? Any info would be awesome! If anyone would like a picture of what I'm talking about I can run out to the rig and snap a few shots. Thanks!

So I am starting to assume that the built in phone was a rare option. Does anyone know where I could find more info on it? Would the dealer know anything about it?

Yours is only the 2nd I've seen, and both on 98s... maybe it was only offered the initial year?

I think both were aftermarkets.... Usually on all LXs there is that little storage space on that bottom console where the 6cd changer is...

Would that work for my RAZR?
