I had never hooked up the lights that came in my ARB, so finally got around to getting some actual lights to replace them. Had seen a few threads on putting DRL's in but I was hoping to go for more of a fog light.

The lights I ended up getting from amazon are quite bright and really can't be used as a fog light (and too bright for oncoming traffic) but seems like it would work well for offroad. Had to fab up a quick bracket out of some scrap steel, cut the small light tabs off the arb (and paint them) and then drill 2 mounting holes for the bracket.

Wired them up via a factory toyota switch on the left side of the dash, running on the aux battery.

Will post pictures of them lit up at night once the front and rear axle maint is done and I've got a few miles on them :) I'm curious to see if the lenses chip or not being that low on the bumper. Overall for the price they seem decent. They fit the factory hole on the ARB pretty well too. The body is larger so it can't sit flush, but I sitting 1/4" back doesn't affect the light output at all.

The light is a very "white" light with a temp of 6500k, so not sure how hard on the eyes they would be if used for long periods of time.

Nice! Going to do this for my Ironman, the fit in the existing holes looks perfect. They are sold individually right? Thanks again for the measurements.

Nice find and thanks for the pics! Going to give this a try.

I thought of doing the same thing, however I never decided to try untill now. It looks awesome!

Can not wait to see some night pictures, I wonder if I can use as a DRL angle down by 6 degrees?

Thanks. My personal opinions is that these lights are way too bright as well as having a very wide pattern to make them viable for either a fog or driving light. (Not 100w LED light bar bright, but still bright). I had originally bought them as a fog light but they throw light way up in the air and it would be very bright for oncoming traffic. I did try to angle them down some but it wasn't enough with the wide throw pattern.

So is the extra light noticeable when you have your headlights on? The ARB turn signals are so lame, so $40 to swap out for the LEDs seems like a solid upgrade as long as they cast enough light to make a difference.

I like the way they throw the light to the sides since the bumper is angled, this would make driving on unfamiliar roads or trails at night much more manageable.

I have yet to do mine, been too busy being tapped out for IPOR rear, OPOR sliders and longfieds.

Yes the wide angle is really useful if you have to do any sort of off road or dirt road at night. Gives a good view of whats right in front of you and off to the sides. Doesn't throw light really far so don't notice a ton of difference if driving at 45 on pavement with the regular headlights on.

These lights still working well for you?

Also, anybody try the spot beams?

Mostly, yep. I'm in south america now and you have to use lights whenever driving outside of the city, so I've been using these as DRL's. One of the lights has started to die (4 out of the 6 bulbs are dimmer) so I've just contacted the amazon seller to see about warrantying it. Cheap LED's I suspect, or maybe just a bad run. They are even cheaper on amazon now.

I ordered a set, made some brackets, drilled some holes, cut off the ARB brackets and painted. Thanks for the heads up on these!!! Now I need to wire them up and I'll be GTG!
