Nice! I have gone the drop many times, never knew that was an issue, no signage that I know of, or at least wasn't a year a go.

Wow they make that hard to read... Seems like a bypass of sorts is needed. By the time to you get to that feature you are fairly deep into the park,.

if they didn't grade out all the obstacle so nancies in their subarus could get through, we wouldn't have to break the rules and go up stuff to keep things interesting.

So as an FYI, Ted and I did a day trip through the desert from Canyon Sin Nombre down the Diablo drop-off and across Fish Creek with a stop at the Iron Door for a cold beer on the way home (and noted that no facemasks or requirements for them were being made there). All in all an easy drive to exercise the trucks after some recent work. The interesting thing was the amount of traffic coming in to the Fish Creek area, a whole gaggle of Jeeps, with wood on the racks and clearly loaded for camping. We asked if they knew if the desert was open for camping, but none of them had even checked. While doing my good deed for the year and dragging an overloaded 2WD pickup out of some deep sand near the Fish Creek Primitive Camp he said they'd heard the desert was back to normal operations. Anyway, I looked online at the ABSP website and sure enough primitive campsites and back country dispersed camping is again permitted, for now anyway. Good to know. Anza-Borrego Desert SP ® It seems that the Ocotillo Wells OHV area is also open as evidenced by the plethora of toy-haulers headed there.

Thanks for the recon!
