Did FJ45 pickups come with 15 inch wheels during certain model years and with 16 inch wheels in other years? Or was there a model difference (short and long)? I have seen both 15's and 16's on them and I am not sure which is correct. In fact my 1966 long bed actually arrived with two 15's and two 16's on it! Thanks.

In the old days I would take 16" chevy rims and bore out the center hole and run them. Later I learned about the 16" factory split rims and crossed the border a couple times into Canada to pick them up in wrecking yards. The later 45s came with these 16" split rims, but I agree Ive only seen 15s on stock early 45s.

was there ever a 15" split rim? I've got 2 of them and not sure where they came from. They do have hub cap clips.

Yes, there were factory 15" split rims. You don't see them all that often and I don't believe North America ever got them.
The only 15" Toyota split rim I have seen was a spare on a BJ44 from Japan.

Does anyone have any pics of what an LV or any 45 looks like with 16" skinnies vs. 15" with stock hubcaps? Will these 16" wheels with clips accept the stock hub cap? Both the old style and later? What would be the pros and cons of using these 16's vs. 15's?

There's one on the cover of Toyota Trails a couple of years ago.

:grinpimp:

235x85x16, which is an excellent tire gearing-wise and manual steering wise.

Best

And FWIW, that 16" rim greenspan posted looks like it will use standard hubcaps to me. Looks like the center portion of the flange is identical to the 15".

Peter,

a)Do you know the backspacing on that,
b)wondering if it will fit a drum brake FJ45, also how much,

Thanks Peter,

Your right, important bit is they fit (and look good). I think you crossed the currency conversion over 106 Euros is about 86 GBP so not cheap but atleast you know its a quality part.

I will try and get a UK dealer price.

@Peter,
perfekt wheel for your wonderful J45, looks great!:clap:

the split rim requires a tube tire...and I ´ve not been able to find an adequat 7.5 R16 or a tubed 235/85 last year for my wifes old HZJ71 :confused:
