Hey guys, I'm looking at buying (another) 85 Toyota Pickup. I've checked it out, driven it around, etc and the only thing wrong with it is the PCV Valve keeps blowing out of the top of the valve cover when the engine is revved up. It seems like there is a bunch of pressure building up but that would be a lot of pressure in there... The engine runs good enough if you take off the PCV and just block the line with a bolt. What could be causing this and how easy would it be to fix? I'm thinking replace a bunch of lines to check for blockages, replace PCV, check EGR, things like that. Basically making sure no one can think of anything horrible and deal breaking that would cause this. And this is a 22re with 300k miles showing that overall looks very well kept up. I searched here for awhile but couldn't find anything similar.

Thanks!

Could be as simple as a plugged PCV. Could be as bad as a headgasket.

Excessive blow-by on the rings is pressurizing the crankcase. Try to do a leak-down test.

I was in denial but that's my consensus too. Thanks. Probably just gonna let it pass, I don't really need another truck and need to do work on my current 85 before collecting another one. This is a good excuse to pass, sure was tempting though!

When my truck had the rings in #4 start to go, I was also in denial. Without something obviously being blocked, it is hard to build up that much pressure any other way.
