When I try to actuate the drivers side lock/unlock button, it only works while the engine is running. It does nothing when the key is in ACC position, off, removed, and only sometimes works in On position. The key fob also doesn't acuate the locks anymore. Passenger side lock button has the same behavior.

This all started two days ago, after I replaced the head unit. (I did the NAV delete years ago with no issue, and have been running after market head units with no issues). The only wires connected to the head unit are 12V constant, acc 12v, ground, illumination, and reverse trigger for backup camera. During the head unit replacement, my battery did get very low and needed to be charged before the starter would turnover the engine. The battery was weak and old, so it's been replaced today but no change in the strange lock behavior.

Right now the only way to lock the doors is to hit the lock button while parked but with the engine running, then turn off engine, manually unlock the driver's side door, then manually lock it using the key in the keyhole of the door like it's 1980 again.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Is it related to the head unit install somehow or just coincidence on the timing? I'm puzzled on this one.

Turned out to be the ECU-B fuse was blown. Crisis averted, I missed that fuse when I was checking over them all the first time.
