Putting DRL on a LJ78

Hi guys, I went to have my newly acquired LJ78 inspected to have it plated. The only requirement to have it plated left to do is having Daytime Running Lights on it. I'm EXTREMELY new to the car world and know absolutely nothing about electronics either. Did anyone install DRL on theirs ? I bought LEDs 7x6 with the drl halo on them but can't seem to get them working either. Any info at all would be super helpful. Thanks !
