Nice looking rig! Where is the write-up? if there isn't one, there should be for all us dreamers!

That thing is so freakin' awesome.

Is it some kind of super sized 40 series?. I've seen only one 40 series here in Spain (very rare model), but they are not nearly the size of that.

I'm running the Mojaves too and really like them. I didn't care for the optional center cap though, so grabbed one off my 40 to see if it would fit and with a little bending of the tabs it did. Did a bit of searching and found as a 60 series cap, painted them with Duplicolor Phantom Grey and while its not perfect its not a bad match either. They look better than the crappy cell phone camera portrays them.

I am liking your solution to these rims. I have AR Chambers essentially the same wheel. Trying to track down a set of FJ 60 caps now. Will let you all know how they come out.

The PN for the 60 series caps is 42603-60053. Post em up when you have them on, especially if you find a perfect match for that teflon grey!

Bling-i-fied OEMs

There are alot of really great wheels shown here! About 10% (from what I read here) of the OEM wheels got the chrome treatment, after they hit the port, when spoilers, running boards and roof racks were also bolted on. Unfortunately, chrome cancer is pretty much inevitable after enough time, and as chemotherapy and radiation has not helped:D, I will eventually bead blast, and powdercoat these. Blasting the chrome off is more involved than removing the clearcoat from the stock satin OEMs. They are forged, not cast, so they are very strong, and worth keeping, but I need a spare set of wheels (anyone got a cheap set?) I can use, while I have 'em coated, cuz it's my DD.

The first time I saw the FJ Cruiser wheel on an 80 I loved the look, especially without the center cap. I am also a big fan of the blacked -out look so here are mine:

I have to agree the FJ Cruiser's wheels blacked out on the 80 look sick.

Did you see these?

Very nice.

Actually I did on CL and they were mounted on KM2s but they sold an hour before I called.......they were the factory black version without the beadlocks. The ones I ended up with are much more readily available and cheaper too. There is a guy on Ebay that sells them for $55ea and ships anywhere in the US for $20 which was alot cheaper than anything here locally in SoCal. I can post the link if anyone is interested.

Mine, put on by PO. I want to put on Sequoia/Tundra split 5 spokes. Currently sitting on 285/75/16 BFG AT.

Had my rotting "Chromies" de-plated at a local plating shop. Well worth it, as they were returned to the OE raw-aluminum surface...then had them Powdercoated in black. Better process than bead, media or sandblasting, as no chance of damaging the aluminum in the process. Love the look, and will last many more years beyond the 90's chrome.
