Puff of blue smoke

82 FJ 60 . I have a puff of blue smoke when I change gears . Valve seals ? Or something more serious ? Engine seems to run great .

Seals, rings, blow-by. You'd have to do a leak down test to help pinpoint it, but prolly just a worn engine. If you're running ok and plugs aren't fouled, enjoy!

and check and top off your oil often. Like everytime you fill up your gas tank until you get a feel for how much oil your burning.

Loose valve stem seals (that are old and hard as rocks) are common.
