I call faulty seals, the shaft has some pitting going on and a cheap fix would be a speedy sleeve.
 
Mine haven't been done since this first made the rounds ten years ago. They get pretty jacked up when rock crawling.
 
I threw mine out with the OEM muffler. I don't think my new muffler has bearings. I never checked though. :hmm:
 
OH that must be that awful racket back there. Or it's the mother in law. :hmm:
 
I think mine seized up... They have not been repacked in a while... Any good indication to confirm if seized or not? :clap::steer:

If you stand on the brake and throttle it, the muffler will slam into the frame rail and then rattle like an unbalanced washer.
