I’m not exactly sure. I released the truck to the customer last week so he could get a new exhaust welded up with the header. Then it’s supposed to come back for final carb adjustments. Then I will swap in the Denso distributor.

The factory steering box may be up for service after that.🤷🏻‍♂️
It actually ran really well leading up to the reset. I did several solid trips in the pre-reset setup, but I was fighting temperature issues, which is what kicked off the reset project in the first place.
I got it back same day from the muffler shop and it’s running really strong now—much quieter and smoother overall. There’s a slight hesitation on takeoff and during the 1–2 shift, but nothing major. Next step is coordinating final carb adjustment and getting the Denso distributor installed. Expecting it to be even better once that’s done.

@redshiftquasars i had the similar problem with the Weber carb on my ‘75 FJ40…until it was significantly warmed, it would hesitate and cough once on acceleration. Distributor was the cause. In my case, it was not timed properly… from what I read…yours should benefit nicely from the planned change
