So Jim how close is hunter green to original Toyota FJ25 green? So is it warm enough to paint  It hasn't been above freezing for weeks at the cabin and about two foot of snow on the ground.

Is that wiper switch from that 62 FJ40? You do know that doesn't belong on a FJ25. Or are you using it to control a vacuum switch so you wouldn't have to reach over to the passenger's side to switch on that vacuum wiper:rolleyes:

I let you in a AZ's dirty little secret. When We drove out of Camp Verde a little over 3000' elevation it was dry and no snow, when we get to the Mogollon rim 6500' elevation snow on the ground but not on the highway. The only problem is the highway was white just as soon as we left Camp Verde:frown: . Az been using the white stuff on the interstates since the early 90s. Now they are really getting hooked on the white stuff and using it on the state routes too. So I guess I better keep my 25s off state maintained roads or plan on doing some rust repair myself.

Jim do you have a locking gas caps for when gas prices go back up? At least hook a good chain to the gas cap because we all know they are worth more than the gas in the tank:rolleyes:

The 4636 Hunter Green is a pretty close match, it's tough to tell in the picture (that's a piece of original floor brace under it), looks much better in natural light.

Yah, the wiper switch is from a 40. I'm going to power a 12v solenoid valve for the vacuum with it. Haven't figured out how to make the vacuum wipers park correctly without having to reach up to the windshield...............so maybe it's just a waste of time. This is going to be a driver, so maybe electric wipers are in order. ;)

I'm a little worried with the TEQ cap. Somebody may lift it only to find out it won't fit a 40 or their lowrider. Definately getting a chain, but that's attached to the filler extension. :frown: That's my only other cap...........so I'm limited to two 25's.

CT just started using a witch's brew of sodium chloride/calcium chloride .........my Chevy will rot away before the season's over, because the 100 never leaves the garage. :crybaby:

SO are all your 25s going to be green when your done?

Only one of mine will have vacuum wipers and that wouldn't be a daily driver. The other one will have TNKs. You could always install two switches that way you could stop each of them at the top. Just make sure your off the cell phone and finished that quarter pounder before trying to get the wipers in the right spot:rolleyes: Nothing like driving in traffic and playing with the switches on the dash.

Is your other gas cap the locking type? So why are there so many gas tanks missing their gas caps or did you sell the tanks off with caps? #s 47,48 and 49 I see a problem here.

I haven't taken the 4Runner up to the cabin in the winter since we picked up the 100. Not only is it a nicer ride with more room but it has less molding to try and wash behind. My 100 is getting rinsed all the time. The problem is the roads I take are maintained from three different areas. The lastest to switch from cinders to salt is still on the learning curve of how much to use. So for right now it's more is better. The roads on top of the rim shows spots where it's dried on the road, the road up to the rim is just solid white.

That's the way they came, good thing I like green. Maybe #48 will stay orange. :D

I've only had a locking cap and TEQ cap, and two soft top tanks. The hardtop tanks had other caps that were made to fit.

This is a good cold weather project:

So Jim is it warm enough to paint back east? Are you painting in the basement? Another cold day here in Phoenix, only around 80 degrees today.

John

I'm painting next to the wood stove...................is that dangerous?
Too cold to paint the body, by the time I get the metal warmed up it's time for bed. :)

To bad a couple of weeks ago you have warmer weather. Now at the cabin the temperatures have been in the high forties, so I thinking most of our snow will be gone:frown: Jim Are you putting the pieces on the stove are your done painting them to get that baked on finish:rolleyes: I really do like that color, I probably end of painting one of my vehicles that color.

John

Good thing this isn't a resto. Killing time, but at least working on stuff. Super-fab hi-tech work going on here.

FJ25 turn signal flasher rebuild. Kinda self explanatory, open it up, shake out the rust, cut out the corroded junk, clean it, faux zinc plate, solder in a 552 flasher, add paint. ;)

Bits and pieces. The straps and hooks are US military personnel straps probably M151 era, the anchors are from the 25.

That's rather cool :D

Jim are the eyelets you have with the nuts from a FJ25? The FJ40 have a fixed nut in the dash. are this like all the the rear cross frame with no fixed nuts and you use both bolts and nuts to attach the bumperettes.

John

Where did all my good turn signal brackets go? Spent an hour getting these back into shape, was it worth it?

And running boards, where are all my good running boards? :crybaby: At least I've got a plan to fix this mess. ;)

Jim you should of let me know able the running boards. The last time I checked there was a early 40 soft top in a junk yard with a good set of running boards. The top ring was missing and tire tread was glue to the top. They even had alot of tread left:rolleyes:

John

Thanks John, I've got these, they're getting cut. :D Keeps me busy.
