Did these go on sale officially yet? Or did you only offer several sets at a discount to get the product out and get feedback from the buyers?
@marcfj60 Did you get anywhere with the driver side rear flaps? I test fitted mine today with BIOR and it kinda sorta fits. I need to get some more spacers and longer bolts from @Ramathorn15 or the hardware store and try again. Just looking to see if you had any success. I'll get some pics up later.
So the spacers are 1/4 thick. I'm thinking with the BIOR, the best option may be to stack a couple spacers between the bracket and the body holes. Do you think that would work? Do you think 2 spacers would be enough between the bracket and body? Also, do you think it would only need spacers on the top hole?
I tried 2 spacers on the top and middle. Still wasn't quite enough. I think one more on each of those (to 3/4") and then one the inside (to 1/2"). However, two spacers are max for those bolts.
The bit I don't like is the trailing edge of the bumper inside the wheel well hits the flap dead center and it would seem over time to dig into the flap. Hard to picture, I'll get a photo. But if I can push the flap out far enough it should sit better.
I did and had the same experience as you. I tried putting spacers underneath the metal brackets like Rami showed but that didn't fix it. But I only put one spacer. I think I would need much thicker spacers and longer screws for the upper bolts to get to the point where things aren't tight. I've just accepted that the flaps are a little harder to get on and they bend a little getting around the upper part of the side wing of the bumper. I might try finding a solid spacer that I can cut down instead of stacking up spacers because those little suckers get hard to handle and keep in place in those tight quarters.@marcfj60 Did you get anywhere with the driver side rear flaps? And for the record, these things are still great. Rami did a great job on the design and is super helpful working with trying to figure out how to make these work on a BIOR rear bumper. Don't be deterred by the little wrinkle some of us are having. They're still on my truck and doing their job (not that I've had any time to get them muddy or dirty).
I havent had a chance to open the box with work and the holidays. I been following the thread and those that got theirs. Should I try to sources spacers ahead of time. I am going to be working outside so I dont want to start taking stuff apart and have to run to the store. Let me know.
It's been a few weeks since the first kits went out. Would love to hear some feedback!
Pretty sure that bolt is a M6x1.00 and approximately 1/2" - 3/4" long.I'll be working on mine this weekend. I'll need do some work for the rear as I have the "open" BIOR bumper. I "lost" the 2 screws from the factory rear mudflaps when I did the bumper conversion last year. So, I need to locate replacements. Not sure what length or thread pitch I'll need. My plan is to do the fronts and hold off on the rears until I can locate the 2 needed screws for the inboard anchor point.
