Missed them!!! Headed to Big Bend Christmas Eve pulling a TAXA Cricket camp trailer.....was sure hoping to get a set before I left! I'll be watching for the next batch.

All the kits have shipped and have they all are expected to be delivered this week! I'm really excited about this! I just finished writing up the directions which are now on my site: https://owlexpedition.com/instructions

I will be around and will answer phone calls (or call back asap) if you guys have questions during the installs (304)-276-6523.

I really want to get some real world impressions and feedback from you guys! The ultimate goal is to have these available for all the overland platforms, and this is just the start.

Thanks again! This community is so awesome and is really giving me an opportunity I otherwise wouldnt have.

Did these go on sale officially yet? Or did you only offer several sets at a discount to get the product out and get feedback from the buyers?

The second part. Once I get some feedback, I may need to make changes but I plan to begin rolling these out as some decent scale.

@marcfj60 Did you get anywhere with the driver side rear flaps? I test fitted mine today with BIOR and it kinda sorta fits. I need to get some more spacers and longer bolts from @Ramathorn15 or the hardware store and try again. Just looking to see if you had any success. I'll get some pics up later.

So the spacers are 1/4 thick. I'm thinking with the BIOR, the best option may be to stack a couple spacers between the bracket and the body holes. Do you think that would work? Do you think 2 spacers would be enough between the bracket and body? Also, do you think it would only need spacers on the top hole?

I tried 2 spacers on the top and middle. Still wasn't quite enough. I think one more on each of those (to 3/4") and then one the inside (to 1/2"). However, two spacers are max for those bolts.

The bit I don't like is the trailing edge of the bumper inside the wheel well hits the flap dead center and it would seem over time to dig into the flap. Hard to picture, I'll get a photo. But if I can push the flap out far enough it should sit better.

Just so we're on the same page, what I'm thinking is like in the photo. 1/2 of spacer behind the bracket and the standard 1/4" in front. Is that what you're doing too? If you can get some longer bolts from Lowe's 1/4-20 thread and make it work with more spacers, I'll send you however many you need and can source the same type of bolt, just longer depending on the # of spacers needed.

I did and had the same experience as you. I tried putting spacers underneath the metal brackets like Rami showed but that didn't fix it. But I only put one spacer. I think I would need much thicker spacers and longer screws for the upper bolts to get to the point where things aren't tight. I've just accepted that the flaps are a little harder to get on and they bend a little getting around the upper part of the side wing of the bumper. I might try finding a solid spacer that I can cut down instead of stacking up spacers because those little suckers get hard to handle and keep in place in those tight quarters.

And for the record, these things are still great. Rami did a great job on the design and is super helpful working with trying to figure out how to make these work on a BIOR rear bumper. Don't be deterred by the little wrinkle some of us are having. They're still on my truck and doing their job (not that I've had any time to get them muddy or dirty).

Thanks for the positive feedback Marc! Hopefully we can find a simple solution (longer bolt and spacer). I just need to know how much spacer we would need. Stacking the 1/4" ones until it fits nicely would tell me how long of a bolt is needed and I could probably even find the right size spacer.

Here's what I went with on the drivers side in addition to the supplied spacer on the flap side. These are body side spacers.

Driver:
Top: 1" spacer, 2" bolt
Middle:1/2" spacer, 1.5" bolt
Bottom: 1/2" spacer, 1" bolt

Passenger:
Top: 3/8"ish, but needs to be 1/2", 1.5" bolt
Middle: 1/2", 1.5" bolt
Bottom: 1/2", 1.5" bolt

As you might surmise, either the mounting of (me) or the production of (BIOR) is not symmetrical, hence the deltas in spacers.

I'm stoked to get these sorted, its a great product. I knew full well what I was getting into with making these work with the BIOR. Headed to the mountains tomorrow, let's see how clean the fat bikes stay!

Im glad you got that figured out! Seems kind of all over the place with spacer sizes. Would make it dificult to figure out how to provide bolts and spacers to make it fit easily.

I havent had a chance to open the box with work and the holidays. I been following the thread and those that got theirs. Should I try to sources spacers ahead of time. I am going to be working outside so I dont want to start taking stuff apart and have to run to the store. Let me know.

Do you have the factory rear bumper? No spacers are needed unless you're trying to make it work with an aftermarket rear bumper.

I'll be working on mine this weekend. I'll need do some work for the rear as I have the "open" BIOR bumper. I "lost" the 2 screws from the factory rear mudflaps when I did the bumper conversion last year. So, I need to locate replacements. Not sure what length or thread pitch I'll need. My plan is to do the fronts and hold off on the rears until I can locate the 2 needed screws for the inboard anchor point.

It's been a few weeks since the first kits went out. Would love to hear some feedback!

I'm waiting on my Dissent modular rear bumper to be delivered before installing. Will post up once I do.

Pretty sure that bolt is a M6x1.00 and approximately 1/2" - 3/4" long.
