came in to post F-350 front chin spoiler pictured above. How do you think these new full-sized pickup trucks get 25mpg? They lower the nose and add plastic all the way down to the pavement.

Did you do the diesel conversion yourself? Not something i could do and the only people that can do that nearby will only to the 6.5 chevvy v8 which i have no interest in and the cost is about 20K

I used a kit and did it with my son

Update and I’m a happy mudder, well part time mudder !

I did a mixed run this tune after numerous half tank tests over the same commute. I suppose that’s why I’m investing so much time into this as the 80 is a commuter and part time mudder

Over the half tank tests I was consistently getting the 20L/100km (12mpg) after doing the wind deflect mods (I’m not finished yet) this instantly dropped to around 16L/100km (15mpg) which really stumped me as I was not expecting that roof racks and lifts caused that much drag.

So over the weekend aswell as the same commute I included some off-road to go with it to which consumption obviously went up but not a great deal.

After another fill up and back to the weekly commute straight back to my 15mpg as in previous tests.

I say again I’m not quite finished and plan to angle the air from the bash plate to the end of the bullbar and I still have the rear wheel carrier to do but I’m really happy.

If anyone is having dramas with the wind noise on their sun roof I urge you to get sun roof visor like mine it makes a world of difference

Hey OP! Interesting work, I think a big beautiful brick like the 80 is a great candidate for aero mods. Any updates?

Have you considered a full flat plastic belly pan or wheel covers like modern semi trucks have now?

I'm glad I just don't care :-)
Fill 'er up and keep driving.

That's how I am with my trucks, but I must say I'm fascinated by aerodynamic improvements and I think they'd reduce road noise. Anything I can do to restore/improve NVH on the wife's 80 staves off the inevitable vehicle upgrade :)

NVH out of a 6.0LS is just music to my ears lol.
