I love the old chrome stock wheels too! Chrome is out.....My2 cents. They do look the best on a STOCK FJ 60 that is for sure but this is not your grand dads FJ.........This is in every sense of the word a CRUISER....and one that has it's own style and sound. I did sell the stock wheels and the front seats, bumpers as well as the 2F, which Tor commented was the driest no leak 2F he had seen....

Few more pics Lokar shifter looks like stock manuel but push button and shot the Auto tranny.......... waiting for the right one, Had a couple offers over the last couple weeks but not giving it away

Would have been awesome to find this cruiser before buying mine and getting it shipped plus fixing rust finding more and more. Would have been a better investment as well as a nice drive across the country. GLWS. The next owner will be very happy.

Thanks smokeybear, I hear you and that is what I have heard from others.....Just waiting for that right buyer. I would consider selling with out the TorFab drawer system w/ ARB fridge/freezer. Could put it in my next FJ 60 project.......Someone make me an offer

Man this is an awesome rig! Just went and looked at an 87 fj60 in Salida today with a 5.7 v8. Older conversion and no resto, found this rig while doing research and debating if I want to go and buy it tomorrow. If this was 4 or 5 months into the future I would be heading your way instead, I am not too far away in Gunnison. I am putting my rental house on the market in a couple months and already have interest in it, but have to wait for my tenants lease to expire to sell. If your rig is still for sale by that time I will be very interested! Definitely keep us updated.

You will be taking a chance. Things are heating up on this end and am considering a couple of offers now. One from Alabama but not heard from him yet and one local family. Still get calls every day while driving this beast around Ft Collins. Thanks for your interest...

Not sure how I'm just seeing this. I stalk the mud classifieds often and this meets all my criteria. I've been looking for a restored 60 that I can reliably daily drive and this looks like it on the surface. I'd like to talk details with you if you still have it. Please pm, (email is quicker, UCFyou@yahoo.com or text me so we car arrangements to talk 352-455-2240). How many miles are on the chassis and motor?

Nick

I had a young man chase me down in my neighborhood tonight to ask me what I had done to the FJ and how much I had invested. He was driving a cool 88 FJ 60, rust free and totally stock. In really good condition and he paid $14k for it. So my theory is holding true that rust free FJ 60's are hard to come by and to buy one today and bring it to the resto/mod condition I have this one in is going to cost at least $45K. Just the V-8 swap will be close to $20K plus all the stuff I have hung on this beast. WOW I think I should raise my price......$14K plus $20K is $34K I am not asking enough......Just saying

This is my first post on IH8MUD, so be kind. I certainly can't dismiss your 60 as a nice restomod example, but you're going to need to change your advertising approach to command that kind of price. As someone who has put a lot of money repairing various vehicles in my lifetime, the emotional connection and money spent on the vehicle don't always translate to a 1 for 1 payback. Meaning, common sense math that you listed above (14+20=34) doesn't mean it's worth that much. Things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. Check out some of the auction sites like ebay or BAT. They aren't commanding that kind of money, at least not yet. You'll notice that the ones that are are unique. Meaning they're the original owner or less than 100k miles and providing a full history, receipts, and 50 plus photos. Your price might be right, but it's still very "premium", perhaps the evidence is in the amount of time you've had it listed for sale. If I were to be in the market and considering this 60 I'd be in the 24-27K range. I wish you the best of luck with the sale. Someone is going to get a great rig.

I hear you loud and clear and the math is what it is. I was certainly not justifying the price based on the cost of a rust free FJ plus the cost of the engine swap. That does not compute i agree. All I am saying is that $35K for this rig with all that has been done, not just the engine swap, has some merit.(go back to page one and review the detail) I love you guys who have not done such a project dictating price. If anyone wants to duplicate this truck for $24K to $27K please go for it. I now have way north of $45K in it and do not expect $45K out of it. This is my 3rd. If someone does not want to spend those $ or experience the down time involved in a project like this then then they will look at this rig in the eyes of the beholder and not someone who thinks there is even a market for one of a kind vehicles like this one. You are correct it has been for sale for a while and I continue to love driving it every day till that one buyer who see's it and the light goes on......"Wow I could never duplicate this for $35K, not even close"...... I do appreciate your comments and many will say right on, just not me. No emotion just dollars and sense
Merry Christmas!

This is my first post as well, I lurked for a while on here and resently got a sign in. I think your price is very fair especially since it has a conversation done by a professional shop. If this was a fj62 I would strongly consider it. I think I’m at the point that I want a solid body to do a conversion and restomod on. It will cost me more this way but will be exactly the way I want.

No popcorn needed. Thank you for the response, I suppose I never learned "if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it at all" I certainly wasn't attempting to dictate your price, the market dictates prices not this old guy at a keyboard. I was just commenting that I haven't seen this kind of 60 sell for that type of price and that the ones that are selling north of $30k are perfect, all original, lower mileage, etc. Pictures of the frame, suspension components, mileage, and common 60 rust areas will certainly help. The 5.3 could have had 100K miles on it when it went in, no one would know. In my experience, it's the 100% original, matching motor and trans, vehicles that command the highest of prices. Everyone has opinions, if this were my 60 that I wanted to sell and an enthusiast or mud member showed up with 27K, it would be a sold cruiser, not because I didn't have more invested in it, but because I don't think the market supports a higher price. Some rich idiot might buy it for $35k at auction, have you considered that? Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

This is an awesome rig. What a great example of using modern engineering and components and keeping some historic looks. Nicely done.

good looking truck...I dont think it will take some rich idiot to get over 30K. While its true it is more period ones that are going to $30K and above on BAT, there are plenty of guys who love an old classic but want to reliability and power that you put into this thing. GLWS.
