Any new data points, ideally from 1958 buyers? I've never bought a new car, this would be the first and it is annoying trying to get info from local dealers.
 
Fuel costs keep rising steadily here on the east coast as today diesel was $6.09. My 3.0L Chevy diesel still getting about 27mpg but this is NJ so you need to Jack rabbit start from a red light, close any and all squeezable gaps in front, brake quickly as you coast up to the slow-poke in front of you and pass on a solid double yellow line.

If I could drive normally, I have gotten 36 mpg a few times in a more “desolate” area like the Pine Barrens. North Jersey is psychotic behind the wheel

I'm in Salt Lake and bought a 1958 in November, full msrp. These sell before they hit the lot around here. Still, 59k is a great deal for one of these IMO.
We bought one a few weeks ago thru Costco buyers program. They knocked off a few thousand and had to wait for delivery as it was still on the ship from Japan.
