I realize only a handful of you know Scotty Bridges or his family, but any of you who have attended a CLC crawfish boil or the Crawl have probably drank the beer he helped us procure.

On Tuesday night they tragically lost their 14 year old son, Cole. He was their first born, the only grandson in the family, and, by all accounts, an exceptional young man.

In your times of meditation, reflection, or whatever you choose to do with that brief period of peace before the day turns to utter chaos, I ask that you remember this dear family. And for those of you with kiddos, I’ll reiterate what Scotty told me today - hug those children whenever you get a chance.

@Bomar has been awful quiet about his tragedy, but I’m a believer in prayers during hard times.
Last week he and his family were away from home and his beautiful home caught fire and completely burned to the ground.
He’s being tough as always but prayers for him and Tisa too please.

Oh my gosh, @Bomar ! So sorry to hear about that! Glad everyone is safe......and you're exactly right about the "stuff." It's nice/fun to have, but in the big scheme of things, it really doesn't matter....

In light of everything going on, it would be prudent to keep those friends of ours who work in the service industries (hotels, bars, restaurants, etc.) in our thoughts that this situation comes and goes quickly so they can get back to their livelihoods. I am sure these are very trying times for them right now with everything shuttered.

And for the rest of us as well... Good chance many LC folks I know who work in aerospace and aviation, auto manufacturing, retail, etc. will soon be without work-- myself included.

EDIT: And our first responders, DRS and nurses who are literally our warriors.

Let's keep close to our friends and family and help them in any ways that we can.

Be well CLC family. Thinking of all of you.

Best.

Thanks man. Still trying to process it all...

I love all my LandCruiser family.

Everyone is safe and unharmed the rest doesn’t matter at all.

Thank you to all that have reached out. Tisa and I are so so blessed to be loved and thought about by so many people.

John I had no idea, and am so sorry to hear. If there is ANYthing I can do for y'all, just say the word.

Friends,

My annual check-up in June found I was in perfect health with the exception of quite a bit of protein in my urine. A 24 hour urine collection and testing confirmed the problem. A couple of weeks ago I checked into the hospital where I had the following tests: kidney scan and biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, skeletal survey, kidney ultrasound, lots of blood work, and even a covid-19 test (negative).

Results confirm I have a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma therapy will include a few months of chemo and confirmed remission followed by a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. I may also be a candidate for a promising new immunotherapy known as CAR-T where my marrow is harvested, treated, and returned to me. MM is not currently curable. The goal is a remission of around 10 years. Who knows how much MM therapies will progress in that time. Chemotherapy begins Friday. Fortunately, the side effects are not as bad as I expected and I likely get to keep my hair.

As a completely unrelated bonus, I also have a tiny, half inch pedunculated mass on my left kidney. Malignant or benign it has to come out, so I’ll have robot surgery in a few months after the MM issue is fully addressed. Yes. I likely have two different simultaneous unrelated cancers. Insert Powerball Lottery comments here…

All indications are that we caught both very early. Even though the fight will be difficult, it is absolutely winnable. My doctors are the best locally and have been very responsive and confidence inspiring. I will be at home, and plan to be in my home office and “at work” (on MUD) as much as possible in an effort to keep things as normal as possible. It won’t feel very different than a Covid lockdown.

I am asking for positive thoughts and prayers to help power me to remission and better health. Thank you for adding me to your list. I need all the prayers I can get!

Thank you and stay safe!

That absolutely sucks to hear. You will be in our prayers for sure.

You’ve got this Lash! Praying for you during this difficult time.

Praying for you Lash. Food for thought while you are going through treatment, Eric Schmegel’s dad was diagnosed with MM back in 2008ish And besides a few set backs he is still going strong and is in his 70’s. You got this and if you need anything you have plenty of folks that have your back.

We'll be praying for you here in Arkansas, Lash! Faith, hope and positivity are our biggest allies in times like these. You've got this brother!!

Of all the groups of people you could ask for prayers and love, you know you've got the best bunch of folks behind you! And when we all say "if you need anything....." you know we actually mean it! Hang in there, and lean on us when you need it. In the meantime, we'll keep the prayers coming......

Thoughts and prayers to you my friend. Let me know if you need anything. You will beat this.
