I wanted to do this for long but am a bit hesitant, of our high ambient temp(45-50C in summer) plus hot engine temperature would kill the compressor prematurely. Any useful feedback after these years?

Also since my LC dont have a shield for these areas, I am thinking of installing it inside a storage box(fireproof) to protect it from dust and water.

Still going strong! I use them regularly about 5 times a month with all the off-roading and towing I do. One thing I can count on every time is knowing my Viairs will come on and do their thing.

I've actually had these Viair 444C since 2019, and reconfigured them in 2021. So 6 years strong.

No problems to speak of. I live in the southwest and dessert wheeling in summer can be well over 100 degrees. These Viairs are a part of the "C" series, so they are IP rated for exposure to the elements.

Thanks a lot! just what I wanted to hear :D
Adding to the todo list for this year.

Some updates:

I’ve got everything test fitted and ran some trials using my Indeflate 4 tire system. On the twin alone I was able to get 5psi per minute in my 275/70/18 RGs and with the twin and single combined I got just under 7psi per minute when both were running, but the single kicked off and then back on a couple of times during the fill. I did have two full minutes of both running to base my measurement off of.

I love this as a spot for the nozzle to port the hide. How did you route it into there and what hose did you use to be flexible enough?
