Power Steering Conversion?

My 82 doesn't have power steering and I need to add it to assist turning larger tires.
I've search the forum and didn't find much. What parts do I need to do this?
I'm assuming aftermarket would be cheaper then factory. Does anyone make a kit?

I doubt there is an aftermarket kit. You're gonna need a bunch of parts, here's what I can remember:

Steering box
PS Pump *
PS lines & reservoir *
Engine mount w/idler/tensioner pulley
Belt
Crank pulley w/PS shieve on it

The things marked with * I have spares, I'll sell them cheap. If you can't find a complete setup, let me know.

If I was gonna go to all the trouble to swap out the steering box, I'd also convert everything to crossover steering. You'll need an IFS steering box to do this, I have an extra one of these too. The older solid axle boxes can be harder to find, a lot of Cruiser guys snap these up for their FJ40s.

Pulley to drive the PS pump is a bolt-on to the existing crank pulley. If you get lucky, you may be able to find sombody that has one lying around that they will sell. You can also order one from Toyota.
