Yeah, we're actually doing it ourselves.

You can too!

I need a vice grip and some tools. YouTube no sweat. Ordered the screw and gear two set.

Are you guys actually doing this work yourselves replacing with these gears/screws?
My screw popped off on the driver side after making some grinding noises. Seat doesn't move forward or backward now. Sweet.
It's a pretty simple fix, but Ryan doesn't mention cleaning out the 20+ year old grease that has now become glue inside the gearboxes. This is the primary reason for gear failure in the first place.
Clean out the old crap and fill with white lithium grease.

Or swap out for manual seats like I finally did. Seriously though, the repair is simple. Make sure you line up the seat screws so it does not bind.

Both driver and passenger seats stopped adjusting horizontally. The driver seat wont adjust vertically either and is alol the way in the down position. I took the seat out and cannot remove the protective panel from the front of the seat to access the hex screws and slide bolt. is there a way to manually adjust the vertical position of the seat so i can remove the cover. Without adjusting the seat up there is no way the hex screws can come out. Any help will be appreciated
