I want to powdercoat my split rims, they should be gray.
Did anybody powdercoated them also and knows the colour code for the powder coater company.

Wow. I just took some parts to be powder coated and the guy said they don't powder coat rims anymore due to grease and road grime getting in the cracks and crevices and causing blemishes after the 100psi with electrostatic charge hits the grease. But those rims look awesome.

The rims were sand blasted by the powder coater before he powder coated them.
For this reason all the grease was off the rims, before the were coated.

Strongly disagree! Here in Australia we powdercoat mining equipment and road train equipment including fuel tanks, rims, hanging panels and bars. When the powdercoat job is done properly you can hardly get it off with an angle grinder.. what psi?? what roadgrime??

Hey all, I've been taking bits out from under the hood to sandblast and powder coat on my 77 project.

Are there any parts you would NOT powdercoat if cost were not an issue?

Obviously panels are painted but apart from them you can powdercoat all the black things in the cabin like: steering column, stern, all brackets of heating, cooling in the dash.. all brackets and things like the base of the parking brake, gear sticks, etc. I have powdercoated everything that is black.
They cover very fluidly and they last forever on fresh sandblasted steel.
Take a look at my resto page.
I have sandblasted the electrical motor housings that are black they come out amazing.
I also powder coated the chassis, bellhousing, all mounts of rhe chassis, battery tray mount, front and rear number plate holders, gear box mount bridge. The only thing you need to pay attention is powdercoat is very hard if they go into the weldnuts you need to tap them otherwise you'll brake the screws. Actually the epoxy primer of the powdercoat refurbishes the threads of those weldnuts.. so I let the powdercoat go into every thread, just needed to re-tap everything. Also fr and rr axle housings.
