Possible trade, My 40 for a Diesel Troopy My family has outgrown the 40 but I still want to take them places where only 40's can go. The next best thing I can think of would be a troopy. With that being said if anyone is interested lets talk.

My 40 has a long list of upgrades and mods, and was refurbished and finished around 2 years ago.

Here is the short list:
1979 FJ40 621 Green
New sheet metal everywhere
Gauges Boost/EGT/Tach
81 and later center rear heater
13B-T
H55F
ARB's Front and Rear
Alcan 4"
Vintage Air
PTO
Factory style soft top by OCD
34x10.5 Interco LTB's
Factory Steel Wheels
Late model rear axle with parking brake
FJ62 power steering box frame mounted

I know there is more, all parts including drive train, body, frame, etc... were removed cleaned refurbished and reassembled. I do have pictures of the work that was performed.

I have a pop-top camper HJ45 I'll trade, but the turd H was swapped for a 350:hhmm:

Never seen one before, did some research, I love the idea. I am sure it won't fit the whole family for our camping trips, but I would love to see some pictures. I have to say, that's too bad about the 350, I've never been a fan. Anyway, if you can find time to post a link to some pictures, or post a couple pictures that would be great.

Thanks
Scott

If I had the time and money, I'd swap the old carb'ed 350 for a vortec and be in heaven. I've had troopies with H, 2H, 2F, and 350 and I'll take the v8 any day. The diesels got only marginally better mileage than the 2F and they were both gutless, especially living at 7000'. Maybe with a turbo on the 2H...

Unfortunately my troopy is a bit of a project because I haven't had time to address all the little things that are piling up each year. It currently seats 6 and would do 7 with the factory bench up front. It sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids in its current configuration. All the other pop tops I've seen have been set up for 2 pax only. I'm going to list it in the classifieds soon, so I'll have pics up then and I'll send you a link.

Your 40 looks like a beauty, good luck in your search.

Yea, for each there own. I have been around 350's too long to like them. They do have one thing going for them the parts are cheap and easy to find.

I will check it out in the classifieds when you post it. I have noticed a lot of Troopy's have been or are currently being used in different configurations. The funny thing is that I actually need it for people hauling, so seats are the most important at this time. Can't wait to see some pictures, sounds cool.

Thanks
Scott

It is titled as a diesel.

I have a rather rare one. 1981 LHD HJ-45. Super condition. Only drawbacks, H motor and no rear seats?

Update From Trade: For Sale --> Cash or Cash + Trade

So because of all the interested in the outright sale of my 40 series I have decided to post a price for anyone interested in making an offer.

Cash Price $38,000

I would still accept a trade, or cash + trade if anyone is interested going that route.

Thanks
Scott

Well, the 40 is officially Trade/Sold. Thanks for all the interest.

Where is she going? Please say staying out west and not going LEast.

It is actually only going about 70 miles north and will be stored inside so it should stay in pretty good shape. I guess the only problem is that the guy that bought it won't really ever use it for what it was intended for which was taking it off road. He will drive it around town, but that's about it, I am feeling some sellers remorse, I really did love that Cruiser.

What ever it is used for, the new owner is one lucky individual. :)
