Awesome and Congrats!!! Welcome to the promise land!

Thanks. I'll have to meet up with some of you when I get down into the area. I have a feeling that this next couple of weeks are going to be a rush.

Hey, um, Mike....how's it going? Well this is awkward....

Just kidding. Nicole wanted me to get as close to her sister as possible. It looks like this is it for now. I won't make GSMTR this year since I have this move going on and the 4runner is currently a full convertible. I do hope to make it to SCC though!

This is an awesome town, we'll be happy to have you! We'll just be having a lunch meeting in Georgetown in May, but we'll have a HAMOM in June and that will be a good opportunity to get to know us (even though you've met at least 4 of us already :hillbilly:).

Things are starting to line up and plans are being made.

Question, what are the vehicle inspections like? My daily driver is a tdi with straight pipe, egr delete, and stage 2 tune. Is this going to cause any headaches?

Nobody has ever inspected any of my vehicles in South Carolina. Not even a VIN check.

You're saying all the right words.

Just wait till you get here and you'll find out that if they did inspections here that would eliminate half the vehicles on the road today!

And you thought we had big bumpers and sliders for off road use :)

Oh its a problem alright. This is Ford/Chevy muscle car country!

I see hot rods all the time in my area, lots of old iron floating around

Sorry, I'm a diesel guy. Just can't afford anything newer.

I wouldn't mind building something with some muscle though. I have a feeling that it will be awhile before I have a shop again....have a house to sell before I get into anything. I'm hoping that someone will let me reserve a passenger seat for upcoming rides until I get my rig down here and get it put back together.

Someone always has room! How are things moving along?

I still don't know what building I'll be working in. I have done about everything I can around here and just trying to get some last minute things together. We've had a couple of showings with the house so far and we are hoping to get lucky and sell it fast. Otherwise, I'm just going to be looking for a rental in Goose Creek, Ladson, or Monck's Corner. We've found a few houses that I will be looking at once I'm down there.

I'm going to try to get on the road early Tuesday with a couple of suitcases. Hopefully, I won't into any issues along the way because I won't have much time to spare. Ya'll have fun at GSMTR. I wish I could make it this year but even if I had the time, my truck is still in bad shape after my roll at SCC.

PS, I'm going to need to know the best place to get DOM once I do get to the point where I can get into projects.

Welcome to the Low Country. I've been here since '86 - dad retired, I joined Navy, saw the world - came back. You've got good info so far : Goose Creek, Monks Corner (and any of the small surrounding communities), Ladson - hit /miss, maybe even outside Summerville- in order to find land & house with yard & ample parking. Plenty of small neighborhoods- but no room for toys. Feel free to ask questions about any areas once you start to narrow your list. Look forward to meeting you soon.

DOM? "Days on Market" list? Or ....

Drawn over Mandrel - aka - cage tubing.

Summerville is one that I forgot. I don't think we will find a rental that meets all of our needs. We will start looking really hard at a place that does once our house sells. Until then, a lot of it will be staying behind in IL.

Ahhhh. I know where to get steel, and where to have welding done. I even know some roll cage fab people. Let us know (PM if needed) for specific info.
