Slight Progress...

I haven't gotten far enough to get the carrier and ring gear back in. I'm currently trying to get the spindles back onto the tubes before I lose my big welder access. I was able to machine one of the tube sleeves completely the other day, and part of the other. Tonight I drilled the right side tube and spindle half and slide-hammered them together using a wasted Ford 9" axle shaft. The attached pics show a gap that will go away prior to welding.

recent progress

My cousin machined my shaved 14B housing. It still needs a final pass and redrilling for cover holes. In the mean time I have nearly finished my yoke-flange conversion. I have the pilot holes drilled for mini truck and fj60 driveshaft flanges.

The 9" has a lincoln versailles flange modded for Toyota shafts too.

Are you using an axle jig to make sure you get those spindles welded on straight? I just got a quote for $495 for a 14bolt jig.
