Very nice.... note that the Man-A-Fre nuts on the u-bolts are actually a 22mm instead of the standard 19mm that are on the stock u-bolts, shackle pins and spring pin.

That's right forgot that only the rear were 22mm. Wonder why that is?
Actually the u-bolt for the passenger front was so seized that all but one of the bolts busted off. All others came off with some persuasion from a 25" breaker bar but that one I thought I was going to bust the breaker.

I don't even waste time with old u-bolts. I get out the grinder and cut them in two... SO MUCH EASIER..

Yeah but you are one o' them ole seezond profeshonals. I is still a newbie!!

Looking forward to seeing the end result!

It'll be a couple more weeks on this. I have a ton in the fire right now.... I figure just putting stock springs back on will give her a 2-3" lift, HA! I'm not full on flat yet but pretty close. Holding off on buying tires until the springs are on. She has old 30 x 9.5s now and really want to stay with that size if it looks decent. Afterall stock tires were 235-75-15/ L78s IIRC so the 30 is an up-size.

The 30s will also give me the best performance in regards to SPEED, POWER AND ACCELERATION... HA! WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT, THIS IS A CRUISER.... GIBBERISH THIS MORNING!!

But, it sure is nice to get out on I80 and run 70+..... with a 2F, 4spd and 3.73s and not feel like the motor is about to let go...

J

I don't know what y'all are talking about, I've never done those things

Geezus, are those gym shorts!? I value the family gems to much for that activity!

Cheers

@reevesci couple of quesitons-

A) Who did you order those springs from?

2) From my research about getting stock height replacement springs, 60 and 62 springs differ by 1/2". How much of a headache would it be to put these in a 62?

D) Not a question. Really digging the stocker refurb approach you're taking to this one. Super modified, rock crawling, go anywhere builds are always fun to follow, but seeing the same level of detail go into a grocery getter but camp-ready project is refreshing.

I got the springs from KSI, they were super responsive to any correspondence and said they had many sets installed and shipped out on the 60 series. I will know more how the "CRUISER LEAN" IMO an OME fabricated term plays into the equation and overall fit in a few weeks. IIRC all the 60 series have the same spring length, front and rear.

If I like the fit and ride I will continue my negotiations to become a full on distributor for this spring.

I have a slight bit of lean with my OEM + AALs so may not be..... and I thought I read somewhere that the 62 rears were different but could be confusing things as most companies don't differentiate between a suspension kit for a 60 vs 62.

J, I thought you were moving back east? All these new ventures makes me think you are sticking around?!

Well tell her to look in Carson City!!!! Great for entrepreneurs here in NV and my house is literally 15 minutes from seeing Lake Tahoe and maybe 20-25 from dipping my toes in the water!!

Sending you a PM.
