Has anyone seen or done a pop top on a 55 like these troopies. Do you think it could be done without changing the roof profile?

definitely be sweet. you'd want to cast the roof in fiberglass or plastic cause the steel roof is definitely heavy:eek: (i have one and half of them on the side of my house). should be doable if a troopie could be done.

I agree. That would be awesome.

a pop top is something ive been thinking about for a long time,,, my most desired style would be to graft a flippac top in the roof. wildernest style would be second followed by any of the others. the reason i like the two mentioned is you can have a living space AND bedroom space at the same time.

added bene...if there was a fiberglass repro top, might be able to fix some peoples issues with rotten roofs while taking some weight off the top.

Big plus! Good thinking.

Someone has to be doing this. There is a Honda Element that I see running around here with a Westie style pop-top.

I think that the dual living space is the best. The trick is not to change the roof profile. SOR has a military 55 in their catalogue that has an extended roofline and I don't think it looks as cool at all.
