T100 2wd pan. Use at least fj80 tre's and some .250 wall Dom links (everyone sells them). You will need the chromoly SA hub gears from who ever is selling them now to make the ifs hubs work.

BTW Napa does carry the 555 tie rod ends supposed to be the best, but you won't know until you open the box.... Plus they have lifetime warranties. I have gone through many. Never broke one... Just whooped out.

Cool, i know someone who owns a napa so that should be easy to find the 555's. Good to know about the steering links and hub gears.

Awesome, bring them to hoedown? Name your drink/beer of choice!

I'll put it out there I may not beable to wrestle down John to milk him, so maybe your second drink of choice.

No wrestling required. I'll even wash it for you.

I can bring them...remind me again as it gets closer.

I still have a few quarts of "John milk" left from PYS. But that'll be gone by hoedown.

I might even have a 3.0 clutch and fan... That should do just fine.

Hey man thanks for the offer on the fan clutch's and fans, but i ended up prying my wallet open with a crowbar last weekend and ordered a new fan clutch and replaced it. I am back in windows up, with the ac blasting, wheeling mode now.

The only two things related to j$$p: everybody thinks their worth way to much and you better have a lot of spare parts.

First time I met Woody was at Hanable Rocks, only the second time Alice saw dirt. Fresh paint job and brand new flatbed and was asked how much I wanted for it, for his buddy, I told him $5000 and you see where she still resides.

This turned out for the best because he is the one that told me about the 1st Chicago Toyota Jambo.

Yea that dudes smoking crack if he wants 8k for it. A fully restored cj2 is worth around that. Mines close enough to original to get the feel for it, yet has been hacked a bit by previous owners that you would not shed a tear bashing it down the trails. It needs a set of yota axles, a 4cyl (or keep the f head for a joes truck style build) and an sm420 and you can wheel for cheap while pretending you are storming a beach.

If I was to have one the old willy's body is the only thing that would be tolerable for me.

Definitely yota axles though.

The F head motor and the dana 18 t-case are pretty cool as well. Stupid simple, yet strong. But i agree the axles are crappy, however the closed knuckle dana 41 is the mini truck fronts great grandpa and you can see a lot of similarities between the rzeppa joints and birfields and how the knuckles are sealed.

Chrysler/AMC era jeeps are complete garbage, the willys ones are neat.

Back on track, is the trail gear knuckle service kits worth a damn?

Yes it is. I use it. Has all you need....and the inner seals are just fine . No need for the pricy Marlin inner seals, not worth it .

FIFY. Dana 41 was the stock REAR axle for the CJ-2A (after they ran out of the WWII-era Dana 23 full floaters in early 1946) and the earliest CJ-3As before they switched to the Dana 44.

Sweet... Now we are now done with the gay jeep talk felching up my thread. Any more and I'll be compulsively waving at people while driving around.

Time to talk about balls.... Knuckle balls, how smooth are they supposed to be? They are slightly rough like sandpaper and rust free, do I just not even worry about it? After this I'll be done grinding on this greasy bastard.

Gappy I'll take those springs off your hands. I was looking over the ones I have and the main leaf is cracked on one of them. You coming to hoedown?

Hey Geeoff, I'm a definate maybe for Hoedown. Did you want to try and get them sooner in case i dont make it or to speed things up for your project?
