more info on your 1/2 door mod, please.

I have a set of doors waiting to go under the knife and have been trying to figure out exactly how to do it.

I don't know if mine's very functional, btw :meh:

Not much info really. I just cut the door to keep from hitting my chin on the damn thing while wheelin! The kick up at the rear is to leave room for the door latch, which I ended up removing because I just didn't come up with a clean way to make it work. It does make for a very comfortable place for the elbow though! Welded some sheet metal over the cut door shape, and glued some carpet to the top to keep from burning my arm.

Chicharron - pork fired in its own fat :D

Here it is - just got all the bearings and seals in the front axle redone, so theoretically the drive train is in better shape than the '83 Elefante - I just wouldn't want to roll or crash in it since all the pillars and body mounts are a complete mess. Think fallen souffle.:grinpimp:

Chicharron has a third row seat.....

Chicharrón used to live in Camiri - which is hot as hades during dry season, thus the sunroof. I would take it out because it leaks, but the whole stinkin' roof leaks, so why bother?

The third row seat is mine - it is out of a 4 runner and the only thing I don't like about it is that the back is too high to see out the rear view very well. In other words, I love it. I put in 3/16x2" under the floor with captive nuts and then the same on top so it can be taken out fairly easily.

My dad took out the gas tank so we could do that.
