I removed all the clips from mine. It's a lot easier to take it on and off now. Haven't noticed any issues so far.

I do this too. My clips have been removed for at least the last year. Easy to lift it out of the way to check levels or for servicing. The adjustable bumps keep it in position until you close the hood and it doesn't make any noticeable noise.

I have had my panel removed for 75k miles. No cooling issues here. It gives me the ability to check the coolant reservoir level easily.

Yep. I keep a couple on but could probably get away with none since the hood bumpstops hold it captive.

I’ve never thought about removing the clips. I need to give it a try. I want it on but hate not seeing the overflow.
