Blue Sea add a battery was simple and keeps the start/house battery isoloated when off and only connects them when running and after the start has topped off.
The reason I went blue sea was it was what I could afford and getting a group 31 Interstate blem for $35was part of the savings that allowed me to buy the BS add a battery kit and a safety hub fuse block and all the cable and connectors.
Install, prices, sources all in my blog in my sig. But for those of you that don't click links I bought chunks of 1/0 welding cable off ebay for cheap (several sellers selling end of rolls), bought good solder lugs from delcity, and al the BS stuff from sites that had the lowest prices and best ratings.
I don't see how some say their system cost them less than $50, they're obviously not including the cost of cable, battery tray, battery, connectors, etc. I think all said and done my BS stuff ran about $125 and that included the safety hub which runs 4 20A barrels and 3 mega's. The tray new was around $90, the Interstate Blem was $35, the 25' of 1/0 welding cable was $60, the lugs were each around $2.
The first thing I did was drain the house leaving every accessory I had on and then manually flipped BS switch to all and fired it up. I did run the optional LED to the cab to let me know when the batteries are combined charging, other that that it was a pretty simple deal.
I also used Anderson connectors for the winch so I can pull them off and hook up jumper cables without popping the hood and did the same thing in the rear so I can unplug my amp and plug in an inverter.
I did forget that I fused each of the batteries right off the positive with AMI's used ford 250A found at junk yards or you can source them off ebay for about $4.
