i have plenty of experience with the turbo'd PZ engine in the 70s...
quiet
smooth
powerful
great on fuel

and parts for at least another decade...

so what did you want to know?

How does it compare with the 13bt, better or worse or the same? Will the pj be better off in the long run for parts availability or would a 13bt outlive a pj anyways?

The engine is a 1PZ. Im not as optimistic about the ongoing parts availabilty for the 1PZ as Crushers.
It does share many parts with a 1HZ and some peripherals with the 1KZ,but IPZ parts specific to that engine will be scarce .
Im talking about cyl heads ,cranks, flywheels, fuel pump parts etc.

As for longevity ,it will be too close to call

you are correct in that assumption.
the 13BT is a 500,000 km engine as long as the maintainece is kept up (unless you need a part that is obsolete)
the PZ is a 500,000 km engine and since it was around for 5 years longer and, as Rosco stated, many of the parts are shared with teh HZ the parts availability will be here for quite a while yet.

(try getting a 13BT injector fuel return line even now...obsolete from the factory...)
