Hokay Bob, here you go. It was worse than I thought.

Our '69 FJ55, AKA "Doc"-

Between the driver's seat and the door-

The stainless steel serving trays acting as floorpans that the wife..."borrowed" from Cattle Baron restaurant when she worked there as a teenager in 1982-

Below the tray. Worse than I thought.

Lifting the tray higher did not make me happier-

There you go, Bob. Consider me entered.

Very cool contest!

Brewtus, that looks almost like mine when I started!! Well maybe not quite that bad :)

Brewtus, you are entered, Just dont leave the yard with that PIG.

Thanks Bob.

Doc is not going anywhere anytime soon. When it shedded it's passenger side quarter panel on the street and the debris almost hit a new Mercedes driven by an irritated resident of Tanoan ( a ritzy neighborhood in Albuquerque), I figured it was finally time to park the '69 and deal with the rust issues.

Thanks for the encouragement, Cruiser_guy. I may be calling on you for floorpan replacement guidance! :D

I bailed on the lower half that was rusted like that and ended up with a reasonably solid ex-California lower half and the solid North Dakota upper half and welded the two together. The rusty lower half might be part of the Mercedes you nearly hit with the shrapnel!!

You can see what I did here https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...972-september-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html 'cause "bobm" was still hiding his talents :)
