<am going to go with the chevy avalanche look>

 Uh oh, get ready to be hammered by the closed minded purists

Nah. There were folks who said it wasn't what they would do, but nobody has ever given me much grief about it. The harshest comments I've heard about chopping a top are in post #1 of this thread.

Yeah, the truth on the matter is just taking the back portion of the roof off retained some of its wagon value. It doesn't look like a bass boat on wheels when it still has most of the roof. Seriously, wagons with no roof look just like bass boats...

Taking 12 inches out helped too. PICS WILL COME. I promise...

Travisty's FJ60 SOA will start at the shop tonigh so I'll be around the rigt; I just have to remember my effing camera since toymaniac won't upload his phone pics...

Do it
photo looks rad, truck almost looks too nice to cut tho
I chopped my pig into a two door basterd thing, not done of course
guess i should do a thread on PIGLET
my suggestion would be to section roof as far forward in window as possible; the rear roof curve is difficult to work with

You've been holding out on us.

Okay, so Leni still hasnt sent me the taping and measuing pics from his phone yet. These are the aftermath. Obviously the rear isnt tacked back on yet and I haven't chopped the frame rails yet either.

.

I agree there. That's one reason I kept the B pillar forward.

Wow you cut off another what 12inches since I was up there? Looks good. Don't know when I'll get to start mine but I'm hoping to get the motor in in the near future.

Sweet. I love pork chops...

So how much are you cutting out after you tack the rear back on? More than 16"?

I took out only 12.5 inches out of the middle. I figured out exactly how to BOB the gas tank tonight amist help TRAVISTY SOA his FJ60. We sucessfully SOAed his 60 in two nights! anyway, once his rig is out of the shop, I'll play with mine some more. More fiance is coming home from the olympics tomorrow so progress will slow somewhat... We are going the Barnwell MTN on the 30th though; so one way or another, it will be done by then, even if its really rough.

I'll have gas tank bob pics up on SUN probably

you can't cut the glass, it will break
a glass shop can make you flat windows that are tempered for ~$30 a side
or
you should ditch rear side window, tilt whole back clip forward at top, and create a fast back pig, screw avalanche, go pacer
that would be sumpthin:hillbilly:

I finished the fuel tank. It had holes in it. I wasnt suprised. I rachett strapped my buddies Bronco gas tank in for Sat. wheeling trip. No new awesome pics.

UPDATE

Heres the update. Its not totally done obviously, but the rear is tacked back on and totally welded on one side. As mentioned, the gas tank has holes in it after bobing it they I was planning on fixing; however, I've changed my mind and decided to run propane. ANYONE want to buy my totally awesome weber 38/38?!?! That gross green color is all I had to spray on it right quick so It wouldnt rust in all the recent rain.
