Solid Silicone Black License Plate Frame Covers 2 Pack- Front and Back Car Plate Bracket Holders. Rust-Proof, Rattle-Proof, Weather-Proof ( Black). Amazon product ASIN B08DK1SZSF
Does the plate fit “into” the silicone? Meaning does the plate edge fit into a groove or sorts… or does it just sit on top of the silicone?

I wouldn’t mind using something like that on one of my cars, but it only has the top two mounting holes. Wouldn’t want the silicone to flop around.

Yes the plate actually fits inside the lip of that frame. The frame is silicone so it stretches easily for it to slip inside, like a phone case. If you don't really want a frame but want to protect your tailgate this is the cheap and effective solution.

The silicone wraps around. It won't go anywhere with just the 2 holding it. None of mine have.

Exactly what I’m after. Thanks!

I went with a simple Toyota themed frame that was found on Amazon.

I'm trying to get your thoughts..... When I bought my LC, the dealer (salesman) was a dumbass and stripped the mounting hole on my tailgate. They tried to fix it by drilling the stripped side and putting in a different sized screw. Now it won't hold a screw because they did a crappy job. What can I do to fix this? I was thinking about a compression rivet nut.

In my experience using rivnuts for other issues, they work very well.

Tired of advertising for my dealer, I stumbled across this thread.
I’m going to buy the one you have, @scanavera

But just to put this thought out there for any of you more industrious and artistically-inclined readers; it sure would be cooler to have an IH8mud frame for my license plate. I would be happy to upgrade.

As I understand it, Reefmonkey handles merchandising, and might be willing to make something if there is enough interest.

Thanks, @CharlieS

James at reefmonkey is responsive and quick!

He put the frame in the link below together for me and I just ordered 2.

I’ll post picks on my rig once they arrive.

Crap! Sorry!
I thought I had…. But evidently was wrong.

Here you go.

Every vehicle that I have bought with a dealer license plate frame I have discreetly returned the frame on the next visit. I just remove the frame and leave it on a counter. At this point neither of my rigs have license plate frames.
