Cj's and older are awesome in my book Dave. ;)

Agreed. That's when Jeeps were still Jeeps and not some Chrysler abomination.

If I was in the market for a brand new 4wd Suv.... i'd buy the 4 door wrangler rubicon hands down..... I do salute jeep for still making real 4wd vehicles and having them available in the US.... now if they would only throw the diesel in them that the rest of the world gets.

It's not that I don't like jeep as a vehicle. It's more the type of person that drives it. Old CJs are an exception.

Mine's an 84 CJ-7. it does pretty well on the trails. Other than that, it sits in the garage. I do think the toyota's are built way stronger, though.
And definatly not a closet Jeeper. I bring it to Toyota events, also.

I also have to jump in to support "Heeps". I agree with Al that the 4dr Rubicons with the new engine is a sweet vehicle - though it's getting lame with zipper heads putting chrome all over it or taking them in the outback and not understanding the 4wd system mechanics/or driver required skills - hence unable to drive over a small log.

I love my old "Heep" and feel folks that slam'em without having much 4wd experience are swinging a broad brush and being a little narrow minded as they are pieces of American culture and history - that as an owner you put your knowledge, sweat, and sometimes tears into to keep on the road (similar to our Toyota culture).

I park mine ('62 Willys/CJ6) proudly next to the 40th.

Driving down the highway . A jeep pulls out into traffic and takes out my cars right rear quarter panel. $2k in damage.

Four months later on one of the smaller country roads....I'm putting along, a jeep in oncoming lane decides to suddenly do a Uturn right into my rear driver door. $4k in damage.

I assure you, my dislike is purely emotional with no mechanical basis whatsoever.

Id swear I saw a lot more cameras being used that weekend...anyone else have pics or video?

I've got some, once life slows down I'll upload them. I have to resize them to post, that's the time killer....

Use the outlook to resize it. open like you were going to send a new email, attache the pictures and i will ask you what size you want to send them. after they are resized select all and copy into your new folder and you are done. I hope this helps

You could also upload everything to an online hosting service, like Picasa, then use the URL and /URL tags to post them here. That's what I do and requires no re-sizing.
