The outer felts can be ordered from @beno
79 series or something like that. I have no original ideas, just you guys to fall back on.

I am in the process of de chroming my rig. Front windshield, rear side windows and rear ordered from Kevin at Wagon Gear.

What material are you using for the door card? It doesn’t look like it is covered yet (but then again it also looks like exposed stitching) I like the addition of the entry light.

Marine Vinyl. Old double stitch Singer I picked up at an Estate Sale. I will post more when I get to a computer that isnt work related. Stupid work always getting in the way.....

used hard board from the craft area in Home Depot/Lowes. 3M 80 spray glue, JoAnn Fabric marine vinyl. This is version 1.1 and I already see my mistakes. The marine vinyl is too thick for the toyota plastic grommet and pin holder will not hold to the door for long. Nutcerts are in the works for everything but the front doors. The pins show through the marine vinyl, needs some padding between the hard board and the vinyl to soften the look.

Sweet! Thanks for the insight. I’m half hoping I don’t have to rely on my craftsmanship for this. What you have done would likely take me multiple attempts to get looking half decent. Nicely done.

Jeff, just take the lock pull liner and install it back into the metal. It gives it a cleaner finished look than leaving it out. You can paint to match the metal as well.

Look at my Marley build thread and I have step by step on building the above panels. I use a 6mil clear plastic as the water shield, then headliner material for the backing. It is better than most auto foam out there and inexpensive at Hancock Fabrics or Joann's, etc.. You can reuse the OEM fabric if you are careful or if you are switching to vinyl, find a 4 way stretch marine vinyl.

I use 1/8" HDFB from Lowe's or HD. Lay the old card on it, trace and cut with jigsaw. Use a 1/2" and 5/16" drill bit to make the door pin holes. Finish sand the edges with sand paper. If you want and are worried about moisture, simply seal with Thompson's or similar. They make a mildew/water resistant card material but I don't have a source handy.

Jason

I searched for the Marley thread and nothing comes up. Would really like to read through it if anyone has a link or title
