You should Deryl maybe we can meet up for a BSLCA outing next year for those that care to go. The 1 hour battle scene is something to see and the Cannon fire is way cool :D

Thanks Isaac, Mike

1 more as the cannon goes off you can see the powder going off in the high res version

Really puts everything into perspective and teaches us a lot when we can see things like this.

For instance, I always thought that the southern boys has supply lines cut and were barely getting by on hard tack and other rations, but from the reenactment, I can see that they are well fed.

(Always have to tell a joke...life is just too depressing without them!)

With that said, I can definitely loose some weight too!

I have been to a couple of these in NW Indiana and they are a great time. I used to have a school teacher that would coax us into going to them. He was also the kind of guy to dress up according to the history lesson provided. He even brought some weapons he collected from past wars. Everyone thought he was crazy, but I loved him. He gave me a WWII picture book before I moved back to S. IN.

Sure throw up a reminder when it gets closer to that time.

 we tasted some hard tack and they did have to survive off a limited supply of it but the Southern boys knew how to survive off the land and ate just about everything according to the Ranger. Some 7000 Southern boys held of 40,000 union soldiers. After a 45 day siege they surrendered because Vicksburg did.

Sounds like my kinda teacher . I'm a WWII fan myself its my favorite generation.

Sure throw up a reminder when it gets closer to that time.

Will do Deryl :)

nice shot larry ! did u have it on machine gun shutter to catch this lol

I sure did bud ;) had the mono-pod with the 70 - 300G on the 700 for the field shots and picked up a A350 for a second body with a prime 28 for the people shots :)

Took the family up to Branson last week for our 1st long trip in the new camper and my parents met us up there in their new motorhome. A retirement gift to himself. Last time I visited the area I was 11 or 12 and Dad had us digging for diamonds at the start of the trip at another Arkansas State Park (Diamond Mines - Crater of Diamonds State Park) on the way up to Branson but we didn't go that route and shot straight up to Branson. There were tons to do in Branson and plenty to spend money on but also things just as interesting that you didn't. I tried to find a good balance of both. After 6 days in Branson we headed South for a few days to Petit Jean State Park for a couple days its an hour North of Little Rock. Sits at the top of a little Moutain with some great overlooks, hiking, a nice falls, and two caves. The campground is on the lake with fishing and canoes. On the way home we road the scenic 7 byway with beautiful views of the Ozarks with Parks and Campgrounds all the way to Hot Springs. Below are some of the places we visited in the case you're ever in the area or want to make a visit yourself. I took home plenty information if anyone is interested. I didn't get to visit any of the nearby offroad parks I thought I might get to sneak off and check it out but we stayed pretty busy :meh:. Besides the blowout from a locked up electric brake on the camper on the way up there and the later heat wave that caught up with us towards the end of the trip we had a great time and really enjoyed the get away. Of course I have 100's of pics and video but I'll only bore you with a few :D

Scenic view view with many parks and campgrounds along the way. In the mountains and curvy but worth it.

Cool Pics Larry!

Thanks Justin don't know that I'll ever see another Black Widow up close like that old girl. She suprised the hell out of me when I opened up the electrical box to disconnect and go home. I let her crawl on a stick and put her out in the woods. Everyone else wanted me to kill her :meh:

I"m always glad to share Mike probably more than folks care to hear about it  I like to travel so I'm always interested to see and hear about new places and something I may of missed at places I've already visited. It keeps my bucket full of things to see and do, not that I ever get bored :)

Sounds like y'all guys had a great time. I love the widow picture. The "push to test" in the background is very fitting.
