I put in a MOB armor phone mount. I liked it in my FJ60 and works well in my 2013 200 Series.

Key question:

Can you easily mount/remove your phone with just one hand and minimal fuss...with stability to handle crazy, jarring trails?

Of so...I’m in.

I ask because it ANAZES me how hard ot remains to find a super robust solution that doesn’t dangerously require both hands. My RAM cradle is secure...but I **hate** that it needs both hands to place into the cradle.

??

Do tell!

These can be used one handed, I've used this mount for a while and it works great for 10 bucks.

I have an XS Max in a holster case which weighs in at about half a pound. Pretty easy to take in and out. The earlier, generic version of this style of mounts couldn't quite handle the weight with only one point of attachment, but these have two so they're very solid. Airflow is fine, and it only takes up part of one vent. The advantage of this style is its versatility, it can be positioned anywhere you want for yourself or your passenger, or removed and out of your sightline when not in use.

Not hard at all. Head to ProClip USA | Car Phone Holders and Dashboard Phone Mounts, pick a base of you choosing for your LC, then pick a mount for your phone, and enjoy. Expensive, but once you try ProClip mounts, you'll be getting them for all your future vehicles. I'm at vehicle #6 with ProClip USA mounts at this point. Worth every penny.

You can even turn the phone 90 degrees and it won't fall out while you're doing 100kph down Saline Valley washboard. Single hand in/out - always.

Thanks.

For me though, I won’t do a vent clip version. The vent moves...and...I use every bit of the forward vents.

what I need it a rock-solid-motionless mount ...that still it one-handed.

Practically everything out there other than suction, CD slot, or spindly other mounts...are vent mounts.

Maybe what I need to do it just find a super solid mount and forget where it’s supposed to go ...then take it apart and attach the back as I want.

if Ican mount it to a ram ball...I’d be good. But still...it’s amazing how few SOLID solutions there are for one-hand removal & replacement on the move.

Ya, the ProClip is on my radar.
The only mount they offer for the LC 200 is pillar based and that won’t work.

Might try skipping their plate...then just screw on another attachment to it.

I like Proclip but they do not make a mount for my 2013 LC. The MOB Armor can be locked down for rough roads and the adjustment knob left loose for highway driving and it just slides in and out.

The latest mounts with the 4 little neo magnets are super strong, especially if you stick the metal plate directly to the back of your phone case. The double-stick adhesives that come with these things are really amazing. I have magnet mounts in both cars, plus several others in strategic locations in the truck. Easy one-handed use, just slap the phone on the mount, and it DOES NOT MOVE.

We have one in the front of our autocross Miata for recording video, and it is fine, never falls off. And that car gets tossed around, lemme tell ya...

@Markuson, I installed this last week. If you have an accessory button slot available it attaches to that. I'm not going to say it is perfectly still. There are very small vibrations when driving but nothing that bothers me though it may bother others. Driving on a bit of bumpy dirt road (deep potholes, etc.) it didn't show any signs of working its way loose. One-handed. Just place it on the magnet or pull it off. I also prefer the location being closer to my right hand while on the wheel. Doesn't encourage on my view out the windshield. It is expensive, though. Like $75. But not a concern for me and it has enabled me to remove the RAM Mount floor mount, passenger side model that was holding my iPad. The only think I miss is converting that RAM mount into a table when we stop for lunch or a bit of photography. ;-)

NATO Mounts. Have one for my phone (that also does wireless charging) and another for the handheld on my 2M.

Both work like a champ. Phone does not move at all.

Ya, it’s kinda funny.
I bet used those for several years now with my iPad and it’s fantastic... For some reason I’ve avoided it with my phone...probably because it needs at least two. Also...magnets don’t stick as well when the metal plates are inside a phone case. My iPad is solid as a rock, but it’s not in a case.

But anyway... Thanks for reminding me to tinker with this same solution.

I got one of these, and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a CD slot mount, and the positioning is pretty perfect, since it doesn’t block anything I’d normally use.

I’ve had RAM mounts in my Jeep, the magnetic mounts in some cars, and they’ve all been good too. I don’t like the magnetic mounts anymore because of wireless charging interference.

I like that nato mount, but I also like having credit cards on the back of my phone. I'm guessing that the magnetic mount won't work with the cards?

Looks good.

Wouldn't a vent mount position the phone in front of the vent though, blocking air from the vent?

True. But i still have the LEFT of steering wheel side vent to keep me cold/warm. And when hot outside, i open the mount vent. Cools my phone...and, since the phone is near the TOP of the vent, the cold air coming out beneath my phone still able to cool my body. So when AC is on, plenty of cold air hitting me (from both driver's vents). When the heater is on, then only the LEFT side vent blows heat. I close the mount vent.

I'd imagine so.

I have a magnetic holder in my old Porsche, the base of the holder is a ring that fits around the dash clock. The first day I used it I couldn't believe I'd gone so long without one. Now I want one in all my vehicles.

I often go straight from the shower to my Land Cruiser and depend on each upper vent to style and dry my marvelous mane of hair between my home and office. I can't go in all lopsided. No sirree.....
