Hi- This happened today. I am anal and want to replace/repair it. I've already replaced the wood veneer sash on the passenger side dash and it was exorbitantly expensive at the dealership. Wondering if anyone knows where I could find this piece myself. I can't imagine it's hard to install, seeing as how now that it's peeled back, I can see that it's literally just what appears to be a covering. It's one single large piece that surrounds the butt warmer controls and ashtray. Having the dealer quote it as well. Thanks in advance!

Same thing is happening in mine but the top is not cracked or broken. The part itself comes out easily. I've thought about removing the complete assembly, removing the ashtray part, injecting some 5 minute epoxy, clamping the veneer down, and seeing how that works out. Just haven't had the ambition to do it yet. Just the face of the assembly will run about $500 and the complete assembly appears to be north of $1,500. Also, there's no way of knowing if the wood is going to be a perfect match.

Geeeeeze I figured it was going to be pricey! I need to search ebay, etc to see about finding the part. I don't even know to search for! It broke because my hubby was messing with it once it detached (he has a brain injury argh).

When I replaced the sash across the passenger dash, it matched up well. Looked just like the rest. Hopefully that gives you comfort if you end up replacing yours! Good luck! Sounds like a decent idea!
