Hi All!

I have to replace my CV's and the Toyota ones are around $700/each. I was wondering if anyone have tried the Pedders HD CV's, as those are around 1/4 the price of the Toyota.

What's the opinion about the brand in general BTW?

Cheers

Asked a similar question about CVJ CV's a few weeks back and the resounding response was go with OEM if you can. I am about to reboot my original CV's. Will take a full day to do both of them and will also be replacing my front wheel bearings while I am in there.

I don't have any experiance with the Pedders brand.

Thanks! I don't really have the money for OEM, so trying to find the best aftermarket one. The splines are almost gone on the hub side, and there is up/down play on the diff side, so I guess it's a flange replacement as well..

From UAE the Toyota CV's are about $450 USD looks like they have some cheaper options as well;

Maybe shipping to HU won't be too bad

Thank You!

That's where I got the price from:( $900 + $205 shipping + 27% tax + 12% duty fee = ~$1600

From the local Toyota I imagine it would be about the double (as with everything else).

The problem is that I have another ~$10k to spend on the car to be useable, so I must compromise and try and get aftermarket stuff here and there.

In the US, Toyota parts pricing changes a lot from dealer to dealer. Is there a chance the pricing you got is really high? Maybe you can find a better price?

In the US, pricing with good online dealers is $350 each. Pricing at local dealers can be hundreds more.

Thank you for your input!

Unfortunatelly that's not the case in the EU:( Here every Toyota part is at least 2-3x more than in the US. I don't know why though.

Anyway: I can't afford Toyota, so what's the least worst aftermarket one?:)

I replaced both my axles with the CVJ 9534 TR axles. They are $262 each, shipping wasn't bad, and no tax. They come with OEM Toyota outer boot, higher angle inner boot for lifted angles, and are Toyota steel axles remanufactured. I was very pleased with the product and customer service. I know they are not OEM, but I feel in research they are the 2nd best option to OEM.

Fun fact: went to the Toyota dealer to pick up some parts. Asked for the price of a CV shaft: $920 + core charge / each.

Asked for the price for the rear diff lock actuator (it's also broken and leaking): $1700
