Seems to work on the island forum, see if it gains momentum here

What I need:

1) My ignition switch died in my '66 FJ40 a couple years back. That's part of the reason I haven't driven it much. Took it apart to see if I could fix it, and found it burnt the plastic between contacts. Thought I might try filling the hole with epoxy, but then just decided to replace it. I changed it over to the switch out of a '71 (seems 69-72 were the same), so now I am missing one switch out of the other truck.

Called Toyota and they said the dash mount switches are NLA. Hopefully Steve will find a good one in his parts bins. Looked at a generic aftermarket one today and wasn't super impressed, maybe there are better alternatives I didn't see, but I guess I could go that way. Coolcruisers has one for a very reasonable price ~$40, probably order it (assuming they do international orders) and accept the stupid shipping costs:

2) My 66 FJ40 should have two individual wiper motors, one for each wiper arm. Mine has been converted to a later cable style, which would be fine, but it runs a custom cable that has gone bad. Tried to repair it but they work so-so giving a pop and bang with every wipe :hillbilly:. Thinking of going back to the dual motors, anyone have those kicking around in a box somewhere?

I realize there aren't many guys with 40's in the club anymore, but maybe someone has some old 40 junk in a box somewhere they want to sell/trade?

I'm in Nanaimo tomorrow if you want to do a MUD ship back to the Mainland.

old wiper motors, yes

I think I literally have just the two motors in a box. But I'll have a look... I must've had the other stuff at some point...don't really remember

Going to hold off for the moment, if it's the motors only. Need to figure out if the wiper arms would be same or different. Guessing different based on the smaller rubber bumpers on my hood don't clear the later style wipers arms I have, so I can't fold down the windsheild.

Thanks for the mudship offer Rob.

old wiper motors, yes

I'll try to make it out to the meeting this week, and take a look what you have. Might be easiest. Also see if that aftermarket ign switch you mentioned is better than the one I looked at today.

Thanks guys.

1hd-t exhaust manifold
Spread the word

If you want cheap, just make and adapter off the stock manifold to turbo, that is all Louis did when he put his turbo together, and I got him to make me one while he was at it too. I can send you a pick of it, seems pretty easy to make.
Cheers,
Deny

As for an adapter apparently you cannot make one for the ct26 and 1hz the bolt holes conflict apparently

I followed up with ateb and someone had already bought it

BJ 73/74 Rear Quarter Panels

Hi there,

Maybe I'll quickly introduce myself as I'm new to the Land Cruiser scene in Vancouver. My name is Dan and I've had my BJ-73 for about 6 months now. I'm currently going to school full time and working full time (5 more months of this hellish schedule:crybaby:) so that's made it difficult to get myself to a Coastal Cruiser meeting and put some faces to the forum names. I've got high hopes that I'll get out to a meeting in the next couple months.

Anyway, I'm looking for some decent shape rear tub and ambulance doors for my 73. I recall seeing a CL posting several months ago that had a BJ73/74 body and frame being parted out, but the ad has since disappeared. If anyone has could point me in the right direction, it'd be very much appreciated.

Hi Dangil. That was probably Dave. He has since moved to the Garden of Eden (AKA the East Kootenays) and parted out the rig well before leaving. I'd try Sheldon at G&S Cruisers in Chilliwack (Greendale). He's the usual CL poster from Chilliwack with JDM Land Cruiser parts for sale. Steve at EBI and John at Radd are also good bets to ask.

Welcome!

I know Sheldon (70sguy) on here had a white BJ70 series he was parting out and I remember seeing the add for it. Would this be the one? Either look up his Mud name or search G&S Cruiser Parts.

Edit: John beat me to it, guess Ill remember to post after I type and not get distracted with xbox lol
