Hey all. parting out a 1978 fj40. It was pretty rusted out, but there are some good parts. THE TRUCK WAS WHITE. Located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Amublance doors- bottoms and some side rusted out (make offer)

Frame- pitted a bit heavily in the rear, but is a solid frame. Most of the bolts came out of it, ie few bolts broke off when we were disassembling. nothing is rusted through. 100$

Hard top- sides and fiberglass top. $300. This is in good shape, except for the back rear of the sides, where they meet the abulance doors, there is about 1-2 inches rusted through on bottom (not surface). This top was never taken off from what we can see.

Cowl (fire wall)- (make offer)

Hood - front rusted out in classic location, but could be fixed. besieds this it is solid.

Tub rails where the hard top attaches to (make offer). everything below is rusted.

Interested in the radiator fan, coolant and washer bottles WITH bracket, carb [of course!] brake booster core and a decent floormat. TIA

H20, I live about 45 minutes from you. I used to go to Silver hill Air Muesum with my big brother as a kid.

I'm interested in the rear section of the frame for the hitch and taillights, and any rust free top parts. How bad are your doors? Additional I'm looking for the following, lower radiator cowl (beneath the fan), fenders cowl supports (attach to frame via body mounts), How bad is your tub inside?? floors etc.

we have the washer bottles/overflow tank. but the washer pump seems rusted, don't know if it works. i don't think we have the braket, but will look. Brake booster radiator fan called for. no dormats.. they were junk.

Can i interst you in a frame ;)

Rear section is not great. i doubt you would want it. the frame in general is good, though it has some heavy pitting at the rear.

The doors are rusted bad at bottom, but upper portions are good. many parts on doors are called for, such as inside appolst. and handles, chrome, etc.

the tub is gone (rusted out)

we do have lower radiator cowl, I think it is salvageable, but will need some work.

the fiberglass top is really clean and i believe the gutters are good too.

how much for the shackles? are they stock? remember i talk to you earlier today about the doors. haha.

are the shackles bent or anything?

jump seats were claimed. no diamond plate. this cruiser had some zing plated steel poorely welded. Funny enough, it was not rusted at all.

Looking for the top plate for the transmission, where the shifter goes. I don't need the shifter stick, just the shift mechanism.

Okay, it turns out that my friend Sebastien (H2o), with whom I am part owner of this truck, doesn't have nearly as much time to surf MUD as I do. Probably something having to do with his having a job that makes him to real work. So, I'm going to try to answer some of your questions, also.

If you mean the frame, it has been claimed. If you're just talking about the glass, there are a few chips in this one. Plus, I don't know that I'd want to ship it across the country. Chances of breakage would be pretty good, and you can get a new windshield from your local Toyota dealership for under $100.

Sorry, taillights have also been claimed.


Basically, we just have the big, hard-to-ship stuff left, ie the frame, cowl, and hardtop. You can certainly request anything else you're looking for, but we might not have it left. I think we each might have a few little odds and ends we'll try to sell later, but we're mainly trying to get rid of this big stuff now.

If these don't sell by this weekend, I'll be placing an eBay ad with local pick-up required.

Felix, I got a message from Sebastien, and have not had the chance to call him back yet. I need a decent top with little to no rust. what knid of shape is that one in? I have one I'm redoing at the moment at obviously don't wan another in the same condition. I concerned about the driprails or raingutter (the fibertop as well) and the topsides. ie bolting area for the doors and lower corners. I'll try and call Sabastien today. I'm about an hour away and would just come and get the thing if it's a good canidate, want would be you best price on the top? thanks Ken
 
I am interested in the small double eyelet bracket which is welded to the drivers side door to which the door limiter would attach, is that something you would have? You mentioned the doors being really bad, maybe cut that part out and send it to me for ?? dollars? Let me know, thanks, RB

I know the dizzy was junk, but I'll check on the ignitor and coil.
