Hi, I have a 1980 FJ40 that has a broken parking brake caliper assembly and no pads on the driveshaft. I would like to know if a replacement caliper assembly and pads can be obtained and through what parts supplier. I’ve found replacement parts for a parking brake DRUM arrangement for previous year models but not parts for the disc brake model. Thank you, John (jgres356!)

For all i know a stk 40 has an emergency drum brake on the back b of the tcase, and maybe later 40s had the emergency brake incorporated with the rear axle drum brakes. We need pics of what you have. It's likely not stk.

Okay, I was not aware that the disc parking brake assembly was apparently an aftermarket install. I recently acquired the vehicle and am learning my way (slowly) around it. The FJ is at the garage. I’ll try and swing by tomorrow and get some pictures. Thank you for the information. J

Its nearly 50 years old - hard telling what has been done to over the years. And then there is the NLA issues for parts.

You should search the build threads and the forum for rear disk conversions - monty carlo or however its spelled comes to mind
