I was doing some research on 3-link stuff and came across this build:

4X4REVIEW.COM: Toyotal FJ80 Land Cruiser - 3 Link Front Suspension w/ Panhard

He must be local to me as I am in Fort Collins which is where Colorado Iron and Metal is but I have never seen the truck. Looking at his pics I was wondering, would it be possible to make new lower links that go from the stock frame points to the stock rear radius arm mounts? Then you could do away with the front mounts and eliminate the binding? The upper link looks simple enough to build.

It was sold a couple years ago, IIRC AJ is now in a buggy. The truck has been well documented here on mud. Practically had to give it away when it went for sale.

Ah now everything makes sense, found a pic of something similar to what I was thinking too:

The biggest drawback to doing something like this to your truck is that you will never be able to sell it without taking a big hit
So if you are going to do it be sure you are going to want to keep your truck because you wont be able to sell it
People just dont want 80's like that.

The problem with that picture is that truck has a monster lift on it and the links and brackets hang very low

Any other word on that 3 link by binks?
The pirate thread has no real useful info, just alot of claims and some photos of a truck flexing

I would like to know more about it, I still think that there will be an issue with axle to radius arm contact on the drivers side with the top link when flexed

Post up some pics of the drivers side flexing like the passenger side, prove me wrong here
Saying it works great is one thing we need to see both sides flex out, not just one side
I am still not convinced that this is viable option for a three link design

Some of us are looking for other viable options here

Not looking for a debate just looking for answers and options
